The cast

Who Voices Jason and Lucia?

Rockstar has named nobody. Not one cast member, three years after the announcement. That is not an oversight — it is how this studio has always worked, and it makes the rumours in this area especially worthless.

Why Rockstar does not announce casts

This is a deliberate and long-standing policy, and understanding it explains why waiting is the only option.

Rockstar builds its characters as characters rather than as vehicles for a recognisable performer. Casting a famous face and putting their name on the box changes how players relate to the character before they have met them, and Rockstar has consistently chosen not to do that in its modern games.

There is a well-known exception in this exact setting: Ray Liotta voiced Tommy Vercetti in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City in 2002, and the casting was part of the marketing. Rockstar moved away from that approach in the years afterwards, and the leads of Grand Theft Auto IV and V were performed by actors who were not household names before the games.

The practical result: cast lists for Rockstar games generally become public at or after launch, through credits, through performers talking about their own work, or through the press.

Why the rumours here are worse than usual

Casting rumours are cheap to produce and impossible to disprove before launch, which makes this one of the most polluted corners of GTA VI discussion.

  • Voice matching is not evidence. Claims based on someone recognising a voice in a trailer are guesses, and trailer dialogue is sometimes performed by different people from the final game.
  • Social media coincidences are not evidence. An actor following Rockstar, or posting about Miami, proves nothing.
  • AI-generated “leaks” extend to audio now. A clip of a recognisable voice saying a character's lines can be produced by anyone in minutes.
  • Resume and database entries get edited by the public on several sites, and have been used to fabricate credits before.

We are not going to list the names currently circulating, because naming them — even to dismiss them — puts real people's names next to a role they may have nothing to do with, and that is how a rumour gets laundered into a fact. Our general position on this.

What Rockstar has said about the performances

Nothing about who, but something about how. Rockstar's VP of narrative Rupert Humphries has described the studio's research approach as meeting “ex-criminals, law enforcement, club promoters, gun dealers and anyone notorious or influential who'll take our calls”. Rob Nelson has framed the game as “the story of the relationship between two human beings”.

That tells you the studio is treating the performances as central. It does not tell you who is giving them.

When we will know

Realistically, on or shortly after 19 November 2026, from the credits. Occasionally a performer's agent or the performer themselves announces earlier once an embargo lifts.

If Rockstar names anyone before then, it will be on the newswire, and it will be on this page and in the news log that day.
