About the numbers you have seen. Install sizes of 150GB, 200GB and even 320GB circulate widely. Every one of those traces back to a community estimate, and the sites publishing them generally label them as estimates somewhere further down the page than the headline. Rockstar has published nothing.
What that means for your console
This is the part that is actually actionable, and it does not require knowing the file size.
PlayStation 5
PS5 games must be installed on the console's internal SSD or on a compatible internal M.2 drive. They can be stored on an external USB drive but not played from it — a PS5 game on external storage has to be copied back before it will run. If your internal drive is close to full, that copy step on launch day is time you will not want to spend.
Xbox Series X|S
Optimised Series X|S titles run from the internal SSD or from a certified expansion card. As on PS5, an external USB drive can hold the game but not run it.
The practical advice
- Clear space now rather than on 12 November. Pre-load opens that day, and a full drive is the one problem you can solve in advance without knowing any numbers.
- Assume it is large. Rockstar's recent games have been among the biggest installs of their generations, and this one has a map described as twice GTA V's.
- If you are close to the limit, consider expansion storage before November, when availability and pricing on those tends to move.
That is as far as honest advice goes without a published figure.
On PC requirements specifically
There is no announced PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI. Any page listing minimum and recommended PC specifications for this game has invented them — there is no product for them to describe.

When this will be known
Install size usually appears on storefront listings shortly before pre-load opens, which means the week of 12 November is the likely moment. Performance modes typically surface in previews or in the first reviews.
